Rock house Negril

I was lucky enough to be invited out to lunch by my lovely friend in Jamaica. This was in January 2015 and I'd gotten an excellent deal on a flight. Winter time is the high season in Jamaica, where all the tourists come down to escape the winter blues. Anyway, back to Rock house! Rock house is a restaurant located in a hotel in Negril. We got there in the afternoon, around 3pm. I was starving! And disappointed that we couldn't go straight to the restaurant as they were fumigating it. The manager advised us to go to the Push Cart restaurant (next door) instead. But they had sent us to Rock house as they weren't ready to serve dinner yet.

We were getting a bit agitated so the manager offered us a complimentary drink and nibbles while we waited for them to finish fumigating the restaurant (getting rid of the mosquitos with some smoky repellent). I must say, their coconut chicken skewers and salt fish fritters were superb! They were so good they prompted me to order them at another restaurant where they turned out to be less than satisfactory :(

Finally seated, we were treated to a spectacular view of the sea. I ordered coconut chicken and fries and a blended fruit punch.

While enjoying dinner an American diner started making a commotion. As it turns out there was a boat of tourists who were, er, getting it on so to speak, right in full view of the restaurant! Of course everyone's attention was turned to the 'entertainment.' Eventually the boat sailed away but not before giving us all an eyeful and lasting memories.

As for the restaurant, it has lovely views of the sea and it set on some cliffs. Pretty much the epitome of Negril. The food was good and so was the company :) I will return if I'm ever passing by. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
